Jayakeralam Higher Secondary School was established in 1955 in the rural area of Pulluvazhi,approximately 6 kilometers from Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district. This school, functioning under the leadership of renowned writers, communist scholars, and cultural activists, serves as a center for the educational, artistic, and sports development of the rural population in Pulluvazhi.

With around 65 teachers and 1,300 students, the school has consistently excelled, securing first place in arts festivals for the past three years and achieving remarkable positions in science and sports competitions.

However, the lack of technological resources, such as computers, remains a significant drawback. In the higher secondary section, approximately 720 students aged between 16 and 18 are pursuing their education. This school, which has nurtured many talented individuals from the Pulluvazhi region, stands as one of the leading educational institutions in Ernakulam district.
